Jennifer & The Good Witch earned the title of Mare of the Year for 2008 in the United States in Eventing. The pair was also named to to the 2009 USEF Winter Training List where they will be groomed for a spot on the US World Equestrian Team. Jen and 'Pooh' came very close to joining the Olympic Team--their chances for the World Equestrian team are very good.

“Nabouco” has joined the team of competition horses in Jen’s barn. The handsome 16.1 hd 7 yr old, 2 star campaigner has successfully competed in Eventing and Show Jumping in Europe. Tim Calandra purchased Nabouco for Jennifer to ride. Tim Calndra owns Show Jumping Super-Star “Cameron Hills Shanroe” who represented the US in the World Cup Finals in 2006 with Richard Spooner. Jennifer, Tim & Ginnie are very excited about this new partnership and see a successful future ahead of them! |

Trinity Eventing would like to congratulate newcomer Amber Shevin and her partner “Welltina” for their first win at Galway Downs Nov 1-3 in the Training 3-day. Not only was the 3-day one of the most competitive divisions that weekend but also Amber and Lula (as we know her around the barn) were 3rd after dressage and held their own to take the lead after a clear show jumping round. Trinity Eventing wants to also congratulate Gemma Cock, Taren Hoffa’s and Kim Spero for their great performance over the weekend. To read more about Shevin and Welltina, read the USEA coverage.

November 15th, 2008 Jen and Rob exchanged wedding vows in Buellton, Ca. at the beautiful Rancho La Purisima. 150 guests enjoyed the celebration of the union of the two lovebirds who have been in each others life’s for the past eight years. The duo feels that they have finished a chapter of their life and are beginning a new one. Mr.& Mrs.Dafoe honeymooned in Tahiti, complements of their good friend Celine Falleta and Tahiti Nui Travel. The pair has a bright future ahead for them: Jen – Olympic Hopeful and Rob – Filmmaker, artist extraordinary!

12 a. m. - Kathleen, Carol Anne, and I along with the horses: Pooh, Reggie, Josh, and little dog Biscuit set out for Norwood, North Carolina. The lighting storms lighted our 8 hour journey and it reminded me of the Fourth of the 4th of July all over again. We called ourselves the "Nightriders" as we covered the countryside in the cool of night to accommodate the horses. I dozed in and out of consciousness in anticipation of meeting the other 8 riders preparing to compete for the 8 spots of the 2008 Olympic traveling squad to Hong Kong. We arrived at 8 a. m. and efficiently unloaded, tended to the horses and took a quick nap. The Beauty of the Fork was so inspiring and Jim and Bernadette Cogdell were very excited to host the final outing and share with us their love affair for the farm.Char (my long-time friend and groom) arrived late Tuesday night from California and was eager to care for the Witch as she always has over the past five years. Lessons begain with Sandy Phillips early Wednesday morning and Ginnie (my coach) arrived from California on Thursday to oversee the positive progress we had made over the last 2 weeks. I was so excited that my team had united again but was sad that my friends, fiancé Rob and family were not here to enjoy this final stage of my Olympic-bound career. |
